The weather has finally caught up with us! It started with an ‘on/off’ drizzle and the wind behind us which was actually quite fine…until it turned into a downpour and the wind coming across the trail. Along the trail there are old railway cars converted into shelters with picnic tables. We finally pulled into one to don more layers and try to warm up.

meanwhile the scenery was very picturesque. At one point we were following the upper reaches of the Rur River again!

Ahhhh! Clear skies ahead!

This is a very cool ‘mobile’ art work beside the intersection where we turned off the Vennbahn to head to Butgenbach. It was moving pretty good in the wind!

After a long day, we decided to have dinner in an Italian Restaurant near our hotel. We ate there on our first trip along the Vennbahn with our friends Jaap and Simone in 2017 and it was wonderful!
