And now some warmth and sunshine in Portugal! The last few day in Netherlands were pretty cool and damp, but we hopped on a plane to warmer southern climes!

Our first night we stayed in a hotel on the beach just 5 minutes from Faro Airport and feasted on fresh fish, salad and vegetables!

The next day we found our friends’(Carol and Paul) Casa Crystale, near Loulé. What a lovely house and garden with a wonderful view of hills and the sea in the distance.

Today we went to the beach near Quertiera…Praia do Almargem where we walked barefoot on the soft sand. The beach here goes for at least 10 kilometres back towards Faro and much of it is a nature preserve so there are few Condos and golf courses along this stretch.

Tonight the Monsoons have moved in and the wind is howling, but we are cozy and dry once again!
