Well today we left the Mass Valley and tried a different route back through the hills east of Nijmegen/western Germany, and it was a bit easier, although I did have to push up the last bit, about 500 meters …13% grade. Again, the view was lovely.

Not many pictures these past few days as I have been having problems with my iPad…it shuts itself down (reboot) right after I take a photo. I can eventually restart it, but sometimes not right away.

Always a sombre moment when we come across a plaque like this one…dedicated to a fallen Canadian soldier from WWII. This whole area was quite strategic and many battles took place here.

The last section of our ride today was through a very lovely wildlife reserve right along the Rhine River. Lots of seabirds gathering to start their journey south for the winter.
