Another perfectly paved and smooth rail grade today! And most of it slightly downhill! A ride in the park for sure!

From Butgenbach we are heading east along another old railway line through the gently rolling hills of East Belgium, crossing in and out of Germany. I guess the borderline here has been changed 4 times since 1900. It was also an important smuggling route for, of all things, COFFEE!

And there are still flowers blooming along the trail….

We decided not to stay in this hotel in Kronenberg…it would have been a good climb(pushing all the way….and they probably would have given us a room at the top…yikes…all those stairs! But a great view, I’m sure)

Instead we found this lovely little Pension just outside of Stadtkyll! The view from our room…
