Well we decided to build in a down day today in light of the weather prediction…so I actually have some time to get up to date here.
The first surprise of the day when we left Pompiére Les Doubs was the railway crossing was closed and gates across locked! So we managed to bump and lift our loaded bikes over the tracks and around the gate…

We carried on with another great tailwind which actually got us to our hotel in Montbeliard way before check in but luckily our room was ready so we were able to relax for the rest of the day and look for an interesting restaurant for dinner. We found a lovely little Moroccan place and had a delicious Lamb Tangine!
Yesterday we had more tailwinds…can hardly believe our luck! As well as some blue sky and even a bit of sunshine…although temps were pretty cool especially with the stiff breeze. Some sights along the way…
Time to take the boat out for the winter…

From the Allan River to the Rhine-Rhone Canal….The Rhône–Rhine Canal is one of the important watershed canals of the French waterways, connecting the Rhine to the Saône and the Rhône and thereby the North Sea and the Mediterranean.(Wikipedia)

I have posted a short video on my YouTube channel but not sure if you can access it?
