So now we are on LF 14….Saxons Route (Saksenroute) heading south.

Prehistoric burial mounds, megalithic tombs (Dutch: Hunebedden), medieval cart tracks, traditional villages and fortress towns - the LF14 shows you the history of the rural north-eastern provinces of Holland.

First stop is veggie stand where we pick up some lovely butter lettuce for €0.70!

It’s another beautiful day passing through green fields and shady forests. The farmers have just cut the grass/hay so we know the weather will be dry for the next few days. There is a lovely scent of sweet grass permeating the air!

Our picnic spot…a little disconcerting when a mountain biker zips past over top the table!

We stopped in Geesmester to pick up some more fixings for supper…
