Well here we are now in Lenz on the Plauersee. It’s been a few days since I last wrote anything, but all is well. The weather has been very good to us but it looks like tomorrow it’s all going to change!

There were a lot of ‘ups and downs’ on the ride here…and I’m not just talking about the hills! We met some fellows picking pears by the roadside and they were delicious! Then there were the cobblestones! Ouch! we had to bump our way along for at least two kilometres! Another part of the trail was dirt/gravel single track through farm fields in the hot sun!

When we finally arrived and looking forward to a shower and rest, the hotel did not have our fully paid for room ready. Apparently they didn’t get a confirmation e-Mail from booking.com??? They were very apologetic (and spoke good English, fortunately) and had a room available which needed to cleaned. Oh those thorough Germans! It took about an hour of waiting before we got in…but what a lovely surprise! We had been given a full 2 bedroom suite! A fabulous ending to our tumultuous day!
